Residents are invited to share their opinion on the feeling of safety in Purvciems during nighttime

The Riga Neighborhood Residents’ Center is implementing the URBACT IV program’s innovation transfer network project “2Nite”. The project aims to study residents’ feeling of safety in Purvciems during nighttime. Based on the collected data, solutions will be developed to improve the sense of safety in this neighborhood.

To gather residents’ opinions, several engagement methods are being used. One of them is a digital survey. In the survey, residents have the opportunity to mark on a map the places in Purvciems where they feel unsafe at night and provide reasons for their feelings. The survey’s target audience includes residents who live, work, study, or frequently visit Purvciems, as well as those who only pass through the area in their daily routines but have noticed unsafe spots.

The survey results will be presented in a compiled form at the Riga Evening and Nighttime Forum, which will take place on May 15, 2025. More information about the project can be found here.
