GEO RĪGA team participates in practical workshops with Esri Europe experts

On February 17 and 18, the GEO RĪGA team, together with other spatial data specialists from Riga Municipality, participated in more practical workshops led by Esri Europe experts. Over the course of two days, we not only listened, but also actively worked – we got to know in depth the 3D mapping and visualization capabilities in the ArcGIS environment, working with building information models (BIM) and reality data integrations, as well as expanding our knowledge in processing and analyzing aerial photos, drones and street-level data. We also practically tested a 3D flood simulation scenario and discussed how spatial data and artificial intelligence can help monitor processes taking place in the city, strengthen climate resilience and plan city infrastructure smarter. For the GEO RĪGA team, this was a valuable and inspiring experience – an opportunity to learn from world-class industry experts and strengthen skills to continue creating modern and database-based solutions for city development in Riga.
