Share your opinion on the intersection of Meža and Puķu streets

10.09.2026. - 31.10.2026.

The City Development Department of Riga City Municipality is implementing the project “Promoting Safe, Just and Pleasant Mobility in Urban Areas (JUST STREETS)”, funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme.

The aim of the project is to improve the mobility safety and accessibility of public outdoor spaces for the most vulnerable groups in society, including older people, children, women, people with reduced mobility, pedestrians and cyclists. This is being achieved by planning improvements to public outdoor spaces and testing various urban design solutions in the selected pilot area – the intersection of Meža Street and Puķu Street (hereinafter referred to as the pilot area).

As part of the project, during the spring and summer of this year, a larger pedestrian area featuring an artistic asphalt painting was created in the pilot area. New pedestrian crossings were introduced, traffic organisation was made clearer, traffic-calming and urban improvement elements were installed, and cycling infrastructure was developed.

Through this survey, we would like to find out the public’s opinion and level of satisfaction with the situation in the pilot area following the implementation of the above-mentioned changes.
