Riga’s residents associations are eligible for support in maintaining municipal areas

Until March 18, the Riga Municipality invites residents’ associations that wish to clean up a municipal land plot and create a more attractive environment in their neighborhood to apply for municipal support – waste collection containers, topsoil and compost for setting up lawns and flowerbeds, as well as grass seeds.

Any residents’ association registered in Riga, including apartment owners’ associations, is welcome to apply. Residents must select a municipal land plot in their neighborhood where they wish either to collect litter or to create, for example, a new flowerbed or lawn. Land ownership can be checked on the municipality’s geospatial data website: georiga.lv.

To apply for support and indicate the type of assistance required, applicants must complete the application form.

Applications received will be reviewed and coordinated with the land plot manager. If the demand exceeds the available support, applications will be processed and approved in the order they were received, also taking into account the distribution among neighborhoods.

The planned support is expected to be available in the second half of September this year.
