{"id":5187,"date":"2026-06-10T10:19:43","date_gmt":"2026-06-10T10:19:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/georiga.eu\/?post_type=iesaisties&#038;p=5187"},"modified":"2026-06-10T10:46:25","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T10:46:25","slug":"invite-for-business-owners-to-provide-their-opinion-on-the-pedestrian-street-initiative","status":"publish","type":"iesaisties","link":"https:\/\/georiga.eu\/en\/iesaisties\/invite-for-business-owners-to-provide-their-opinion-on-the-pedestrian-street-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"Invite for business owners to express their opinion on the pedestrian street initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Riga Municipality is assessing the possibility of implementing a pedestrian street initiative from July to September on sections of Antonijas Street and Dzirnavu Street, with the initiative operating every weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Considering that in 2025, during European Mobility Week, a short-term pop-up pedestrian street was successfully tested for one weekend on Antonijas Street from Elizabetes Street to Dzirnavu Street, and on Dzirnavu Street from Antonijas Street to Kri\u0161j\u0101\u0146a Valdem\u0101ra Street, we would like to hear your opinion on implementing such an initiative regularly \u2014 every weekend during the summer period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This initiative is planned in order to promote environmentally friendly mobility and draw attention to sustainable mobility and an urban environment where people feel safe and free when moving on foot, by bicycle, or by public transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"864\" height=\"609\" src=\"https:\/\/georiga.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Attels1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/georiga.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Attels1-1.jpg 864w, https:\/\/georiga.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Attels1-1-300x211.jpg 300w, https:\/\/georiga.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Attels1-1-768x541.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 864px) 100vw, 864px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that during the operation of the pedestrian street, vehicle traffic will be restricted in the respective sections.
